André is a young autistic child. His autism and how it affects the way he interacts with the world is the focus of his character.

Biography[]

André2

André is approximately 4 years old, like Junior, but there is a possibility that he is younger. In his debut comic, André wears an orange (occasionally red) shirt, with green shorts and matching shoes with white detail. In the cartoon adaptation, he wears a yellow shirt, orange shorts and blue shoe with white details.

André has small eyes and a rounded face. In terms of personality, he is very quiet and shy. As described in the promotional issue, André being autistic means he experiences many common situations in unique ways. His life is overall shown to be positive.

He doesn't usually look into people‘s eyes and doesn’t say "hi" or "goodbye" typically. André is considered silent compared to his peers, barely speaking unless he finds it easy. He doesn't imitate others like some autistics do. He doesn't play pretend because he needs the physical stimulation from see-saws and carts; there is the bonus of not having to attempt interacting with other children, too, which is exhausting sometimes.

André has an interest in piano and has become good at it despite his age. One of his other hobbies is setting up incredible jigsaw puzzles. Due to his being non-speaking/non-verbal so often, Jimmy Five thinks he is strange at first. André’s life demonstrates that while autism is not always an easy disability, it doesn’t mean the autistic person cannot be happy.
