Carmen (Carminha Frufru in the original), sometimes referred to as Cindy, is a recurring character in Monica's Gang. Her best friend is Denise.
Personality[]
Carmen seems to be a parallel to Little Lulu's Gloria in personality. She is a preppy, spoiled rich girl and Monica's main rival. Among boys, she is considered the most popular girl in the neighborhood, and often the target of jealousy from other girls. She often hangs out with Denise to try to humiliate Monica and her friends. This makes her a parallel to Fabinho, the most popular boy among the girls. Though she is antagonistic, she sometimes joins forces with the progatonists. She likes to brag about the expensive things her father buys her, since her family is rich.
In many comics, Carmen does a lot of extracurricular activities, such as singing, modeling and acting, so she never has any free time. She also likes to flirt with Luca and other boys who Monica has a crush on just to make her jealous.

Carmen has long blonde hair and blue eyes. She is often seen wearing blue or sea green dresses and mary-janes.
Trivia[]
- Emerson B. Abreu, one of the comic writers for Monica's Gang, has said he doesn't like Carmen that much, so she doesn't usually appears in his comics.
- Her first appearance was in Magali (Maggy) #93 (Globo series), in 1993. She looked a little different from her current design.
